Hello everyone! I hope you had a brilliant Christmas and are excited as I at the start of 2016. For me, it will be a New Year full of new projects: I can now proudly announce that last week I passed my food safety training and had the council inspection to certify my home kitchen for food production.
This means I will soon start organising small scale supper clubs both at mine and in other venues. Within the next month I hope I will be holding the first of many Dining at the Foot of the Hills events here at my home, with food in my signature ‘Piedmont in the UK’ style. Think cheese gelato and a feast of hazelnuts.
Soon I will also be hosting a Syrian supper club with a friend.
In the meantime, I will continue cooking weekly for Dishnextdoor, focusing on Italian comfort meals to soothe people’s soul after a hard day’s work, and will still be hosting the weekly Food Assembly pick up at the Prince Pub in Stokey.
But I am also getting involved in some more exciting ventures: I will be learning about foraging and edible perennial plants from the Edible Landscapes project in Manor House and will be devising and writing new recipes with them. And I will also be doing my bit against food waste with the great team behind Foodcycle in Islington, who every week use food donated by supermarkets to prepare meals for people at risk of social isolation.
So stay tuned. This 2016 is going to be full of surprises. Chin chin and happy New Year!!!
